Reformed Christian families at Providence Church, the broader Pensacola community, and the surrounding region will have more college options close to home as early as Fall of 2027.
College in the context of the local church.
A limited-enrollment college, Athanasius Hall, is envisioned as a community of Reformed Christian scholars and students pursuing collegiate studies in the context of the local church. A student’s experience will be all the more shaped by the church community at Providence, with its Covenant Renewal worship, robust singing, and relentless hospitality.
The official launch of Athanasius Hall College is pending completion of its academic program of study and approval from the Florida Commission for Independent Education. Organizers have already cleared other hurdles to use the facilities at the four-acre campus of Providence Church at 9600 N. Palafox Street in Pensacola.

To help students live Contra Mundum, Pro Christo — to stand against the world and for Christ — and be equipped for faithful Christian living in all their vocations of life.”
Accredited course credits and degrees from day one.
Two-year Associate’s and four-year Bachelor’s degrees in partnership with an accredited Christian college, through a combination of online and in-person instruction. Tuition will be less than a comparable online degree, with the added benefit of in-person group recitations and live interaction with fellow students and instructors.

Two years, in partnership with an accredited Christian college.
Bachelor’s degree
Four years, online and in-person, with Socratic-style recitation groups on the Oxford tutorial model.
Foundations certificate
One- and two-year programs for co-enrolled students attending the University of West Florida, Pensacola State College, and area technical and trade schools.
Faculty from the Christian Halls International partner university will lecturea nd oversee the courses, in collaboration with qualified local teachers who lead the recitation groups.

The Board is working with Dr. Roy Atwood, co-founder and former president of New Saint Andrews College and outgoing president of Reformed Evangelical Seminary, who is advising on the formation of the college’s vision and will provide academic leadership and counsel as the college embarks upon the coming academic year.
Dr. Nicholas Ellis, president of Christian Halls International (CHI), is also engaged with the College. CHI functions as a central operational and academic intermediary to help local organizations start micro-colleges, or “halls,” without needing to build a college from scratch.
